NOW HIRING – FAMILY SUPPORT COORDINATOR
The Therapy Place is seeking an outgoing, creative, and self-motivated individual to serve as our family support coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience with navigating the special needs community, either through personal or career experience. This position will be primarily responsible for creating, coordinating, and carrying out activities to support the families that we serve. Activities include coordinating respite, caregiver support groups, family field trips, educational workshops and more. In addition, this position will represent The Therapy Place at community events such as rotary or church presentations, community events, and resource fairs. This is a part-time, flexible position with hours being dictated by the activities, most likely evenings and weekends. If this sounds like something you’d love, let’s talk! Examples of current activities:
- Weekly support group Sunday 2-330pm
- Monthly field trip Saturday morning
- Weekly coffee chat
- Quarterly respite night
- Quarterly educational workshops
- Resource fairs (booths)
- Presentations at community groups (churches, rotaries)
- Volunteer group activities (clean up day, etc)
Additional activities:
- Establish parent volunteer group (we have not been successful with this thus far – would love to have parents that helped at events, be it fundraisers or resource fairs)
- Maintain volunteer contact group
- Maintaining the calendar – for work/volunteer opportunities AND to inform our families
- Provide content to marketing coordinator for publishing on social, web, creating print materials, etc.
- Recruiting staff, board members, parents to assist as necessary and appropriate
- One-on-one meetings with parents to help support them and direct them to resources through existing programs

We are looking for someone who can work up to a full-time schedule. We are a pediatric therapy clinic that includes innovative methods, a preschool and family support services. INTERNS/VOLUNTEERS:
Students/Observers: If you are a graduate or undergraduate student interested in observation and/or intern hours please visit request to volunteer page. We are scheduling interns and shadows for 1-2 semesters ahead. Priority is given to students requiring hours for graduation, then those observing for career decision-making. Volunteers must be 18+ years of age to volunteer during clinic hours. We do not compensate our interns but instead provide a professional experience following one of our therapists treating a wide variety of children.
